Resource is an opportunity for students to become life-long learners.  We learn:

How to learn

How to develop study skills

How to support each other's learning

How to be a community of learners.

Not all students learn the same way.  We learn by using our senses.  There are five modalities for learning:

Multisensory/uses all modalities:  visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic

visual/learn by seeing

auditory/learn by hearing

tactile/learn by touching

kinesthetic/learn by doing

Students learn by using one or more modalities.  Some students learn by using a multisensory approach that includes all modalities of learning.   Students learn what their strongest modality is and how to strengthen other modalities for learning.

Students learn their academic strengths and weaknesses.  They learn to develop long and short term goals to improve their weak skills and to develop a plan to improve their strengths.

They learn to develop ownership for their learning by following character traits:

Caring

Fairness

Respect

Responsibility

Trustworthiness

Citizenship

And best of all, students learn to love learning.
