- We will be starting our second chapter book, Shiloh written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. This month long project will include shared and independent reading, vocabulary study, small and whole group activities, and indepth discussion.

- Chapter 7 will be focusing on the introduction to fractions. Students will be learning how to add, subtract, simplify and identify a variety of fractions.
- They will be working with mixed and improper fractions.
- Students will continue to practice partial quotients division and partial products multiplication. In order to make this process easier, please continue to study basic multiplication and division facts with your child.

- Students will be learning how Michigan played a large role during the Civil War.
- A biography black history report will be assigned with heavy focus on research. Students will present a detailed PowerPoint or research paper mid March.

- Our next kit will be the Sun, Moon and Earth. Please see Ms. Hunt's webpage for additional information on this subject.
